Weeks 6 & 7 Quarter 2: Watercolor Painting Final

This is what I ended up with after much fixing and un-fixing, doing and undoing and redoing and all kinds of fun stuff! It may not look much different from my in-progress painting but the changes I made are seen-in-person, OCD/perfectionist kind of changes so...yeah.
While taking off the tape from the edges, the paper was ripped a little (heartbreaking!), but it kinda looks like it was supposed to look like that so...now I'm telling everyone I meant to do it....
Overall, this was an amazing project and a great experience! Watercolors are fun :)

Week 6 Quarter 2: Watercolor Painting Progress

At the end of week 6, this is the progress I've made on my watercolor painting! I think I've got the basic color foundation down, and next week I will focus on making the details really pop and smoothing over the trouble spots to finish it up!

Watercolor Painting Progress

This is my progress so far on the watercolor painting so far. This has about 4 - 5 layers, but the island trees and such have many more.

Watercolor Painting - Contour Lines

This is the contour-line drawing for the start of my watercolor painting! This will be the very basic guideline for me. I decided to do it with grid-drawing, because grid drawing is awesome!

This is my reference photo with the grid-lines on it.

This is the contour-line drawing with the grid-lines still on it. Sorry it's so light! I tried to be gentle :)

This is the contour-line drawing with the grid-lines erased. You can hardly see it, but that is the point!

I can't wait to get started with the painting!

Week 6 Quarter 2: Weekly Drawing - Bug (With Watercolors)

Title: Autumn Flutterings
Size: 8.5 x 11"
Media: Pencil to sketch and watercolor paints

The pencil sketch is much more detailed than the watercolor version, but the paint definitely adds more interest to it! I didn't have enough watercolor paper to use so I just made it on computer paper and that's probably why it looks a little funky. The watercolor is done dry! I didn't put any water on the paper with the paint!
I apologize for the bad lighting in all the pictures! That's why there's so many.

Lovely autumn song:

This is the pencil sketch before I added any paint to it!

Week 5 Quarter 2: Watercolor Landscape Painting (Sketch)

This portrays to me the peace and solitude of the country :)

Week 5 Quarter 2: Color Wheel

Had a ton of fun with this one! Pacman FTW! :)
I see a few things that I would have liked to do differently, like turning the red Pacman so it's eating the red and orange circles, and making the orange-yellow a little more orange, but overall I think it turned out pretty good! I like it! Enough to hang it up on my wall :)

The title says it all.

Quarter 2 Week 4: Abstract Art - Computer

Title: Heartstrings
Size: 800 x 600 px
Media: Pixlr
This artwork portrays to me the organized chaos that is life and love.
There is a structure to it all, but unexpected deformities add obstacles that, in the end, make it worth experiencing.

Figure Sculpture Final....Maybe

I've been somewhat done with my sculpture for a while now. I've just been putting off turning it in because I want it to be better! The more I look at him, the more things I notice that are totally off! Like his head being hugely disproportionate to his body, especially his legs. What is up with that? Why couldn't I have noticed that when I was still able to change it? Gah...frustrations....

Title: Jason, Hipster Cowboy
(Because he's wearing a beret with cowboy boots and a big buckle and plaid shirt and all that.)
Size: Larger than a Barbie
Media: Clay, and various sculpting tools
This project portrays to me the epic trueness of sayings such as "try, try again" and "nobody's clay sculpture can be perfect so just turn it in already."

Realistic crinkles on his shirt! I'm proud of those :)

Graphic Design: Personal Logo

This is the logo I made for a logo project in graphic design. I thought it turned out pretty well so I decided to out it on here! The company is called new sounds undergroundTM and what they do is bring attention and notice to new artists, bands, musicians and producers on a large scale!

Week 2 Quarter 2: Start of Sculpture!

This is the start of my sculpture project!
No, it looks nothing like the chick I posted as my reference sketch, but I cannot tell you how many times I changed what I was going to do. This guy is the only thing that resembled anything that looked presumably human-ish, so I've become quite attached to him. :)
We'll be putting details in next week!

Week 2 Quarter 2: Figure Sketch

These are the figure sketches for the figure we will be making out of clay this week and next week.
If only Slenderman wasn't so slender
I would have made him haha :)

Title: Sweetie
Size: About 4 inches tall, 1.5 inches wide
(I don't know how big my clay figure will be yet)

Weekly Drawing: Week 2 Quarter 2 - Figure Sketches

This week we worked on the basic sketches for the clay people we will be making this week and next week!
